Practical assesment HT2

Key concepts:
  • Denotation/connotation.
  • Camera shot, angle and movement.
  • Genre: codes and conventions.
  • Representation: stereotyping.
  • Audience appeal.
  • Intertextuality.

Plan:

Key info: Royal wedding cost 10 mill, royals never financialy helped out with grenfell tower disaster. Grenfell killed 72 people. Royal family "invisible" in national disasters.

Target audience:

  •  Females
  •  age 25-35
  •  C2-C1
Idea: use intertextuality by making Meghan and Harry look like Disney princes and princesses and have them running away from the burning tower as their wedding is more important to them than financialy helping out the victims and their families of the Grenfell disaster.

intertextuality: I'm going to use Disney princesses because women from my target audience love Disney it also links to Meghan Markle becoming a princess. The use of Disney prinesses links how the royals only care about their happily ever after and that Grenfell cant take that away from them.

text:

I'm going to use the Disney inspired font because it links to the theme im going with, im also going to choose white because the roylas want to be protrayed as innocent.

  1. Hi Rebecca
S: I like your ideas, they show you're really taking into account all elements of producing an effective front cover.
I: I think making a quick draft to see how you would combine your ideas would be good.
T: I hope you take all of your ideas into account when planning your final front page.

    :)
